SUMMER CAMP
ACCESS PROJECT GRADE
Creating Switchboards, Using Macros & Applying Security Features

DIRECTIONS:  We will be using Summer Camp Database for this PROJECT.
  1. Everything on this PROJECT will be on your test!  Be sure to use help and Pizza Payroll for assistance.
     
  2. CALCULATED FIELD Create a select query that includes: CabinName and NumberOfBunks.  Create a calculated field named DoubledBunks that calculates the number of bunks if we doubled our number of bunks.  Save it as doubledbunks.  Use help!  [See Coral or Pizza for help!]
     
  3. Include one message box macro on each of your Access Database forms.  Have it run when the form is opened.
     
  4. Create switchboards for your database:  main, tables, forms, reports and queries.  All forms, reports, tables and queries must be linked. 
     
  5. Include an option on your main switchboard to open tables, forms, reports and queries.
     
  6. Include an option on your main switchboard to edit your switchboard.
     
  7. Open all forms in edit mode.  
     
  8. Include an option on your tables, forms, reports and queries switchboards that returns you to the main switchboard.  
     
  9. Include an command button on your main switchboard to exit your Summer Camp database.
     
  10. Include a command button on the main switchboard that will exit Microsoft Access.
     
  11. Customize your switchboard colors.  Be consistent.
     
  12. Add an appropriate picture to the Main Switchboard.
     
  13. Set the switchboard to be loaded at start-up.
     
  14. Set a password--use stock as your password or I will not be able to grade it!
     
  15. Import the data and create a new table from the spreadsheet Activity Fees.  Create an appropriate relationship.
     
  16. Run the DoubledBunks Query.  Export the results of the DoubledBunks Query to Excel and create the chart you see below.  Save it as an item in the spreadsheet.  Save the spreadsheet as doubledbunks in your Access Unit 3 Folder.
