ACCESS ASSIGNMENT GRADE
Creating Advanced Queries, Data Access Pages, Switchboards, Macros & Applying Security Features

DIRECTIONS:  We will be using CORAL RESEARCH Database for this ASSIGNMENT.
  1. Everything on this PROJECT will be on your test!  Be sure to use help and Pizza Payroll for assistance.
     
  2. DAP:  Create a data access page containing all the fields from the Coral Sites Table.  Save it in your folder.
     
  3. CALCULATED FIELD Create a parameter query that asks for the Site.  Include the Date, SiteID and Time fields.  Create a calculated field that calculates the Days_Elapsed. (Use Date() as part of your calculated field).  Save it as Days Elapsed. [See Pizza Payroll for examples].
     
  4. Include one message box macro on each of your Access Database forms.  Have it run when the form is opened.
     
  5. Create switchboards for your database:  main, tables, forms, reports DAP's and queries.  All forms, reports, tables, queries and DAP's must be linked. 
     
  6. Include an option on your main switchboard to open tables, forms, reports, DAP's and queries.  
     
  7. Include an option on your main switchboard to edit your switchboard.
     
  8. Include an command button on your main switchboard to exit your database--Coral ResearchDone in Switchboard Manager.
     
  9. Include a command button on the main switchboard that will exit Microsoft AccessMake a macro.
     
  10. Include an option on your tables, forms, reports and queries switchboards that returns you to the main switchboard.
     
  11. Open all forms in add mode.  
     
  12. Customize your switchboard colors.  Be consistent.
     
  13. Add an appropriate picture to the Main Switchboard.
     
  14. Set the switchboard to be loaded at start-up.  [See Pizza Payroll]
     
  15. Have you Main Switchboard maximize at startup.  [See Pizza Payroll].
     
  16. Set a password--use stock as your password or I will not be able to grade it!
     
  17. Import the data and create a new table from the spreadsheet coral divers.  Create an appropriate relationship.
     
  18. Run the Days Elapsed Query entering in 2 for the parameter value.  Export the results of the Days Elapsed Query to Excel and create the chart you see below.  Save it as an item in the spreadsheet.  Save the spreadsheet as coralchart in your Access Unit 3 Folder.
