KEYBOARDING/WORD PROCESSING
CLASSROOM POLICIES

1.       Be on time.

2.     No food, drink, or candy will be allowed in class at any time.

3.     Come to class prepared, every day.  Keep all materials, notes, handouts, and other miscellaneous items in your folder/binder for the entire semester.

4.     In-class assignments will be done on the day they are given.  Make up work and tests will be permitted to students who have an excused absence, according to school attendance policy.  Make up work is your responsibility. 

5.     All work must be done at school.  No textbook is to leave the classroom at any time for any reason.

6.     Attendance is required to complete assignments.  It is imperative that you have excellent attendance.

7.     Each person in the lab will be respectful toward the teacher, students, equipment, and furniture.  Students will not experiment with the computers, software, network, or furniture at any time during the semester.

8.     Each person will use appropriate language and conversations for the classroom.  No swearing will be tolerated.

9.     No cheating, copying, or sharing of student’s work will be allowed.  Technological cheating is still cheating.  Consequences for this behavior will be applied by the teacher and through the Dean’s Office.

10.  Students will not download ANY software or applications from the Internet including, but not limited to, instant messaging programs or music sharing programs.

11.   Students will use only school-provided email and only when instructed.

12.  All standard policies and procedures located in the Student/Parent Handbook apply.

13.  Wait until the bell rings to leave and be sure to push in your chair.

14.  Keyboarding is an individual skill-talking needs to be kept to a bare minimum while
      you are typing.
