ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Many people have contributed their time and
talents to the formulation of this plan. It is the result of the work of
students, teachers, administrators, staff members, parents, and business
and community members working together to plan for the communications and
information needs of Warren Township High School. A list of the
contributors to this plan follows.
Technology Advisory Committee
Established in October of 1999, this broad-based committee has reviewed
past planning efforts, current data, and emerging trends in a 6-month
communications and information plan revision process. Members of this
committee include parents, community members, representatives from adult
education providers, area businesses, students, teachers, administrators,
and non-certified staff. The members of this committee have devoted a
great deal of time and commitment to assure that Warren students have
access to tools for communicating and accessing information. The
membership list is included below:
Escom, Inc.Greg Small
Also worthy of recognition is Greg Small of Escom, Inc., who, through
his thoughtful consultations during the 1996 and 1997 fiscal years, and
again during the 1999 fiscal year, has provided momentum and direction to
the Districts technology planning and deployment activities. One of Mr.
Smalls activities consisted of moderating focus groups; more recent
activities have focused on an analysis of our Wide Area Network
connectivity.
Precision Systems Concepts
Michael Angoli and his colleagues conducted a network audit to update
our network diagrams, analyze capacity, and proejct budget requirements
for the network components necessary for our plan. The expertise of their
firm helped us leverage our dollars, phase in our projects appropriately,
and provide a robust network to support communications and information
access.
Members of Planning Groups in Past Years
To the extent that all current planning relies on the work that has
come before, the following groups, who contributed to previous plans,
deserve our gratitude for furthering the cause of technology at Warren
Township High School:
Technology Strategic Planning Task Force
- William Chapin, Director of Educational Technology, Committee
Chairperson
- Dr. Philip Roffman, Principal
- Mary Olson, Assistant Principal and Curriculum and Assessment
Coordinator
- Charles Ramsey, Applied Technology Division Leader
- Dr. Paul Prell, Mathematics and Science Division Leader
This task force formed in January, 1997, to participate in
state-sponsored monthly workshops which provided guidance in the
technology planning process. These task force members, who were chosen
based on their involvement in promoting the integration of technology with
instruction and assessment, coordinated the Districts planning efforts
from January to May, 1997, which resulted in the 1997 "Blueprint for
Learning with Technology."
Focus Group Participants, Jan.-Feb., 1996
A long list of students, teachers, parents, community members, and
representatives from area businesses, agencies and schools helped plan the
future of technology at Warren when they participated in a series of focus
groups activities in 1996.
