Mystery & Crime Literature
This course will explore mystery and crime stories as cultural artifacts. Our discussions will cover many issues:
- How do these stories comment on the human condition?
- What do writers do to create these structures and genres? In otherwords, what makes a work of literature a "mystery" or "crime" novel?
We will also look at some of the orgins of mystery and speculate where it's going.
