 Minutes: 5-11-05 Technology Advisory Committee

Members present: Jean Ferrara, Keith Halvorsen, Jamie Kober, Charles Martin, Bill Chapin

  • Gathering
  • Tech plan to be reviewed on 5-12-05 (cross your fingers)
  • Review of summer projects
    • A summary of the summer projects approved at the 5-10-05 Board of Ed meeting were presented and described
  • Review data gathered in support of tech plan
    • Committee members reviewed the data points posted on the new 05-08 tech plan web site, and the following points were discussed:
    • Faculty laptop use survey: interesting to see how our staff reported using technology
    • Tech Use charts: these show how many different applications and projects take place in our Group Instruction labs
    • Speakup Day Survey: some of the statistics are interesting--e.g., student attitudes toward online cheating
    • Ed Tech Department staffing: questions about whether we have enough staff
  • Questions about the plan?
  • Review strategies for year 1. Discuss plan of attack, especially for the following:
    • Web site task force (Community 1.1)
    • WAN capacity
    • Tech support review (Tech Deployment 3.2)
    • Policy review (Tech Deployment 4.1)
  • Complete feedback form
